Yankee promotion with new york post for 2008? Ok so last year the New York Post had a promotion with Yankee pins, but I haven't heard anything yet with the New York Post doing anything with the Yankees. Does anyone know if there's going to be something this year with the New York Post and the Yankees?

fire_icepoet4u replied: "They just aired a commerical on YES. Its going to be a six issue magazine series on different eras of the Stadium. First is being released on Sunday (Ruth-Gerig era)"

Is the New York Post the stupidest newspaper ever or what? In todays baseball preview in the New York Post, they have predictions for both the New York Mets and New York Yankees. In the Yankees section it says "The Yankees will finish 92-70 and defeat the Phillies in the World Series. In the Mets section it says "The Mets will finish 93-69 and lose to the Red Sox in the World Series" I was unaware that the world series was played twice. Jersy Joe, please, give me a break. The New York Post is nothing more than the National Enquirer with a few pages about sports. That newspaper is always pathetic, thus why I refuse to by it, a copy of it happened to be laying here at work today, that paper is impossible to read. I realize thats it different writers, but its just stupid to have that in print, the Daily News had much better predictions today.

Monica =] replied: "Thats funny. I'm guessing they are saying that if the Yankees made it to the World Series that would be the out come, and if they Mets made it to the World Series that would the out come. But that is funny, and it is pretty much the stupidest newpaper ever."

Jersey Joe replied: "A. The New Post has been posting both Yankees and Mets World Series possibilities for years. B. You should be happy that they even considered the Mets for the world series considering that pitching staff will be lucky to even win the wild card. C. The New York Post the most respected newspaper on the planet. Had you actually took the time to "read" the article carefully you would have seen all it had to say."

AwesomeBill replied: "Phillies? World Series? In which century? The worst paper in Philly is the Daily News. What a rag. It would be too much of an honor to use it for lining the bottom of a bird cage. Phillies in the World Series. At least the Post has a sense of humor."

Dr. J replied: "I think that they have the same ownership as a certain right wing television station. No wonder."

#1 Red Sox Fan replied: "I agree with the Mets one that what's gonna happen in the world series this year"

mattapan26 replied: "Must have been an advance copy of the April Fools issue. But then, isn't every day April Fools day for the Post?"

The Seal Of Orichalcos replied: "ROTFLMAO. That's the worst newspaper of all times. You should read the Daily News. That's the newspaper that I used to read when I lived in New York."

red4tribe replied: "That newpaper isn't exactly my favorite but it ws probably 2 different writers who wrote the articles. If not then they are just plain idiots."

martin_rulz6 replied: "Its a newspaper that loves to be a tabloid. And I take offense, the Phils will defeat the Yanks, not the other way around ;)"

arods_1fan replied: "If you had read the paper more carefully,Like i did today! You would have seen that 6 different sportscasters made these predictions,on who would make it in, and win the world series. I thought the paper was great!!! Tommrow the NY daily News is doing their predictions!"

wdx2bb replied: "The Mets' writer has one possible outcome for the Series, while the Yankees' writer has another. Media outlets often print more than one prediction -- better chance of someone being right that way. If you want to argue that New York writers sometimes think the world revolves around the teams, I won't disagree. It's tough to think the Mets have enough starting pitching to make it all the way this season. But anything's possible -- ask the Detroit Tigers."

metsgurl716 replied: "lol that's funny!!"

Georgie Porgie replied: "Of course the world series is played twice, how else are the yankees going to win????"

Does this conservative New York Post endorsement of Obama depict his ability to bring people together? New York Post January 31, 2008 We urge them to choose Obama - an untried candidate, to be sure, but preferable to the junior senator from New York. Obama represents a fresh start. >
michael moore replied: "It is the lesser of 2 evils. They have to pick someone, but not Hillary; and so: Obama."

justgoodfolk replied: "No, the right wing praise of Obama is because they think he will be easier to defeat. Obama is a conventional bourgeois politician, dependent, like his rivals, on lavish financial support from corporate interests and the wealthy. He is not the product of any sort of genuine movement from below in American society, but rather the latest in a long line of demagogues employed to foster illusions that the big business-controlled political system can serve the interests of ordinary people. Working people have absolutely no stake in the outcome of the struggle between Obama and Clinton for the Democratic nomination. Neither has any answer to the social crisis affecting ever wider layers of the population, and both defend the use of military force to secure the global interests of the US corporate-financial elite. The Democratic Party, no less than the Republican Party, is an instrument of the financial elite that monopolizes the wealth and dominates the political life of the country But it is noteworthy that leading lights of the Republican right have joined in the praise for Obama. The editorialists of the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times’ Republican columnist David Brooks and such conservative media pundits as Peggy Noonan, William Bennett and Rush Limbaugh have all had good things to say about him. On the Republican side, the promotion of Obama is motivated in part by calculations that he will be easier to defeat in the general election than Clinton. No one should doubt that the Republican notables who are currently hailing the rise of an African-American candidate as a vindication of American democracy are prepared to conduct an unofficial campaign of virulent racism against him, especially in the South, should he win the Democratic nomination. Those representatives of the Republican right who have sought to boost Obama have praised, in particular, his attack on what he calls “the politics of division.” Similarly, the senator’s call for bipartisan unity figures prominently in the media hype of his campaign. The New York Times, in an extraordinary editorial postmortem of the New Hampshire primary headlined “Unite, Not Divide, Really This Time,” lashed out against Clinton, accusing her of unfairly attacking Obama and sowing divisiveness. “The last thing they [Americans] want,” the newspaper wrote, “is for either party to drag out the old playbooks of division and anger.” There is a common thread in the efforts of the media to promote Obama’s call for bipartisanship and the intervention of Boren, Bloomberg and company. In the 2008 elections, the politically explosive question of an unpopular war has been joined by a deepening economic crisis that is fueling growing anxiety over jobs, prices and living standards. A majority of voters in the New Hampshire Democratic primary said their chief concern was the economic situation. With unemployment sharply rising, food and gasoline prices soaring and home foreclosures at a record high and expected to hit another 2 million households over the next year, the ruling elite fears that a sharply contested and protracted election process could become a focus for rising social discontent. It wants, in the name of “unity,” to suppress any real discussion of the social crisis. In the complaint of the New York Times and the injunction handed down by the multibillionaire Bloomberg and his allies, the American oligarchy is seeking to lay down the law—to delegitimize any critique of the establishment political consensus behind militarism and imperialism, and proscribe any challenge to the ever-greater concentration of wealth at the very top of American society. The campaign for bipartisanship thus has a distinctly antidemocratic and sinister aspect. It is an effort to discipline the political squabbling within the US ruling elite in order to face a far greater danger: an eruption of social conflict produced by the increasingly desperate conditions facing the vast majority of the American people."

Dani replied: "What's interesting is that Murdoch's Washington Post endorsed Hillary when she ran for the Senate. Something has happened to change its mind about her, that much is clear."

cvq3842 replied: "I would be as suspicious of a conservative-leaning newspaper's endorsement of a Democrat as I was of the New York Times' endorsement of McCain in the Republican primary. Having said that, I agree that Obama would be a fresh start - maybe what we need. My candidate is Romney. But if he loses, I'd be a loser in a McCain-Clinton race no matter who won. Strangely enough, I may find Obama preferable to either of them! PS I do NOT think Obama will be easier for the Republicans to beat! Just the opposite. Like it or not, I think we will look back at the 2008 election and wonder why we seriously considered that the Republicans could win at all."

RedBad M replied: "This absolutely amazes me. The NYP is a known arm of the Rupert Murdoch agenda...and is essentially the paper of the Rush / Rupert arm of the GOP. It was my understanding that they wanted Hillary to be the Dem nod because she was more easily beatable. I do not understand this."

Michael M replied: "The New York Times , a more reliable paper came out and endorsed Obama,. The New York Observer came out and endoresed Obama but that paper is not reliable either or as well known as the Times."

scottie replied: "if i was obama i would just dismiss this endorsement tricky politics"

Is Plaxico Burress a giant idiot as reported in the New York Post? for carrying a loaded firearm into a nightclub. That other dim bulb Antonio Pierce who accompanied Plaxy needs to be given his unconditional release also by the New York Giants.

Captain Shannon replied: "He gives idiots a bad name. He's a typical modern day moronic athlete."

ORB replied: "at least he didn't shoot his mouth off like normal"

sassy dude replied: "Well since the NY News had the same thing on the front page I guess so."

GrimmyBear replied: "yes Plexi Glass is... Watch out with a question like this dude. I asked a similar one and some Giants fan took offense and reported it as a "violation"..."

mikenoeth92 replied: "He is a complete waste of human flesh. I think it is hilarious what happened to him. That sounds mean but what a sorry a$s he is. I guess his sore hammy isn't bothering him as much anymore. Now he has a hole in his thigh to worry about."

Brandon M replied: "yes he is an idiot he and all of NFL players should know not to do something stupid like micheal vick and adam packman jones as burress did basically the same thing as jones being in a club with a gun. stupid idiots."

wkdclwnz27 replied: "Total botard!"

Chad C replied: "Plaxico Burress is expected to be charged with criminal possession of a weapon after shooting himself in the thigh Friday night. The felony chage results in a mandatory 3.5 year prison sentence. "He went for his gun and fumbled it. And now it will cost him," a police source told the NY Daily News. Details continue to emerge, such as Antonio Pierce berating Plaxico for bringing the gun to a club. Pierce also stashed the gun for Burress and didn't call 911 at Plaxico's request, so he could face charges as well. Cops only learned about the incident after the Giants quietly reached out to them to report it. If this was T Owens it would be OVERKILL on the media and on here. They would be saying he was on his way to rob a bank or trying to attempt suicide and 90% of the people would be posting about it on here. Go ahead an thumbs down, its the facts"

Hopeful girl replied: "He was supposed to get over all the "issues" when he got his new contract they said at the start of the season. He's not an idiot, he just has very poor judgment all the way around and thinks rules don't apply to him. He is wasting his talent and being nothing but a distraction for his team. It is sad to see."

VGpugs replied: "Yea, he is a stupid idiot. I had asked a similar question in here and some one said it best "you can take a guy out of the ghetto, but you cant take the ghetto out of the guy. He has such great potential as an athlete and I just hate see him waste is talent. I hope he does get locked up as lesson of stupidity for other players with tons of money ($35M contract)."

HHH is # 1 (uno) replied: "New York City police were looking for Plaxico Burress last night to question him about accidentally shooting himself in the right thigh, the latest episode in a fast-growing list of off-the-field incidents that could potentially place his Giants career in jeopardy. A police spokesman said the shooting happened just before 1 a.m. at The Latin Quarter nightclub in midtown, which was where Burress was believed to have been partying with two Giants teammates and his wife. The bullet went "in and out" of Burress' leg without hitting a bone or artery, police said. Burress, a wide receiver who earlier Friday was ruled out of today's game against the Washington Redskins because of a hamstring injury, arrived at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Hospital with his wife, Tiffany, and an unidentified man, police said. He was admitted around 2 a.m. and treated and released before 1 p.m. New York City police arrived at Burress' sprawling $4-million home in Totowa, N.J., at 4:35 p.m. and spent 37 minutes outside the home. According to a police spokesman, Burress' wife, Tiffany, told them, "You can't come in. You can't talk to my husband." In October, Burress was fined one week's salary - $117,500 - and suspended for two weeks after missing a team meeting. The NFL also fined him $45,000 for his actions during and after a game that month against the 49ers in which he questioned the officiating and threw a ball into the stands following a touchdown. The Giants gave Burress a new five-year, $35-million contract before the season opener, but only $11 million is guaranteed. The relatively low $4.5-million signing bonus also means they could cut ties with him after this season without too much of a debilitating effect on their salary cap situation next year. Plaxico Burress is now a Giant issue In othe words "Plaxy" should be arrested or just suspended"

Revelation replied: "Yes."

RWB4646 replied: "Yes and I bet that the Cowgirls just can't wait to get the idiot on their team which is a collection of stupid criminal type players ."

chris jericho replied: "yes,he has body bodyguards you dont need a gun when you have bodyguards, that just how idiotic he is."

*Elizabeth* replied: "Yes he is. He is a really big idiot."

Blue Eyed Angel replied: "Look, so they made a mistake - everybody does. Just because your team isn't half as good as the Giants doesn't mean you have to pile on. The Giants aren't going to release them for a tiny episode like this. Watch out, we're going to the Superbowl..."

Anthony A replied: "What's wrong with you? Releasing Pierce? He's our best defensive player. Burress might be an idiot but if we can keep Pierce then that's what we're going to do."

New Yorker 4 Life! replied: "I still don't really understand what happened. So, he had a loaded gun, and he brought it into a club with Antonio Pierce, and "somehow" shot himself in the upper thigh? It really doesn't make much sense, if you ask me."

bb600 replied: "I dnt know if he is an idiot but I know he is fine as hell!"

What was your reaction to that racist cartoon published by the New York Post last Tuesday? Will you be following the advice of Spike Lee and boycotting the post? Was Al Sharpton over reacting to this racist attack against the President of the U S A?

UnderSiegeFor1435MoreDays replied: "What racist cartoon?"

Locke replied: "Oh here's another one. The cartoon wasn't racist. Here's what I posted in another similar question. A.) The animal in question was a chimp, not a monkey. There is a difference. B.) According to the Constitution, the president only signs bills into law, he does not write them. Therefore, there is no possible way the cartoon could have been directed towards Obama. C.) George W. Bush was constantly portrayed as a chimp. D.) The meaning of the cartoon is that the stimulus bill was so bad, a chimp could have written it. It's people like you who are constantly looking to be offended by something or cry out racism that are actually undermining the real race problems in this country."

PATRIOT replied: "I failed to see how comparing Pelosi to a monkey was 'racist'."

ATTENTION: Testicles That Is All replied: "That cartoon wasn't racist at all. The Democrats manufactured the racism as a way to trash the NY Post because its a right wing magazine."

GB Fan) I represent serenity replied: "I had no reacting since i don't care about NY Post"

vivi replied: "It wasn't a racist cartoon by any stretch. Yes the two you mentioned overreacted. Eric Holder and his superiors are racist."

nirv replied: "racist repug garbage, as usual - no surprises.. rush, hennity, faux- all the same - idiotic distateful brainless hate"

Kim in Florida replied: "I thought it was done in poor taste and I'm not even an Obama supporter."

Scott T replied: "I was outraged, I can not beleive that people still turn the other way like they don't see whats happening. I don't think Al Sharpton was over reacting."

JOBS- YES!! PORK-NO!! replied: "I think it was Great!! A cute attack against Pelosi and the "CHIMP" machine of Congress that don't know how to write a bill. It had nothing to do with President Obama except in the small minds of left wing idiot loons who love to start race talks."

PUBLICLY CORRUPT replied: "NO, FOR ONCE AL SHARPTON IS RIGHT.....THEY NEED TO SEND THOSE UNAMERICAN REJECTS TO GUANTANAMO BAY."

I've moved to Bermuda replied: "Rupert Murdoch has always been a racist pig"

Mr.Cow replied: "My reaction is that it wasn't racist, and had nothing to do with Obama what so ever. But People like Spike lee,and Al Sharpton have both become wealthy men by crying racism every time they can."

Brandon replied: "We saw millions of pictures of Bush pictured as a monkey. 1 picture about obama and a bunch of left wing fringed nut jobs get all pissed off. Please take your stupidity to France and take the rest of your nut job left wing bloggers with you."

notagain replied: "Where was Spike Lee and Al Sharpton when there was "racist" cartoon about Condeleeza Rice. Plus the cation says "They'll have to find someone else to write the next stimulus bill." The President does not WRITE a bill he SIGNS it, BIG DIFFERENCE."

PARKERD replied: "Regardless of who the cartoon was directed at, and whether or not is was racist is really a moot point. I felt it was in extremely tasteless. But what would you expect from the New York Post?"

Arby replied: "Do you have a link to the cartoon? I didn't see it. I've read that the chimp in the cartoon was Congress, not the President. In that event, I don't see it as racist. In any case, it's difficult for me to agree to boycott something I don't buy, anyway. Or perhaps it is meaningless for me to boycott it. Either way, I'd like to see a link."

Dale W replied: "how is comparing someone to a chimpanzee rascist if you think its rascist because you think that blacks are like chimpanzees because when a regular person like me calls someone a chimpanzee it has nothing to do with their race it would be a reference to their intelligence or their appearance the only way comparing someone to a monkey would be rascist is if i said something like hey all white people are monkeys i would say people need to stop being so sensitive to race rascism in polite society has been eradicated"

Big Cazzo replied: "Just bought a subscription to the post."

Truth and Justice replied: "1. I did not know the NY Post even existed; and now that I know, I still don't give a damn. I would not be interested in Spike Lee's opinion on anything. 2. Rev. Sharpton should get a Best Actor Oscar for best comedy. 3. I look forward to global warming and the Ocean's rising by 100's of feet so the East and West Coasts disappear."

Stereotypemebecauseyouknow replied: "The Left is using the media again to facilitate their Fascism. Why wasn't the story of a prominent muslim who beheaded his wife covered by the national news? They are controlling what you see and hear and claim to be for freedom."

majgross replied: "The cartoon that made reference to the chimp that attacked a woman but was mistaken by people that see racism in everything to be making fun of President Obama? My reaction to the cartoon was nothing. My reaction to the liberals attacking free speech for some mistaken interpretation was, "business as usual"."

phil replied: "it wasn't racist, and if you think it is you are a fool"

Nom de guerre replied: "I didn't vote for Obama, or for McCain, or even for someone else, but after seeing that Cartoon, I was shocked by its racial stereotyping."

Markus K replied: "Yes---the cartoon is obviously a racial zing, directed from the righties at the Post towards the Prez and other black Dems----its so blantly racist, it makes me throw up!"

IluvNewYork replied: "I think it is disgusting of the New York Post."

ralleigh4 replied: "Even if you dont believe the cartoon was racist. You can definitely see that it could easily interpreted that way. The NY post has editors for a reason. They used little caution and are in the media inferno for a reason. No matter what your views we live in a politically correct society. This is a good reason why no person will voice their oppostition to the outcry from this cartoon to a black person. Because they fully understand they will be depicted as being racist....."

soul_monk replied: "I'm all for boycotting the post and as many of Racist Murdoch's entities I can. And as a Black man in america that cartoon is racist, or at the very least racially insensitive. And for those that don't think Murdoch's racist, Oscar Grant(black man) got killed by 2 white cops. To this day I've only heard it mentioned on Faux 1 time by O'Reilly, yet I have to hear about every little white girl or boy that runs off for an hour as a Top Story. Like they life is more important than Grants life. I am blessed to have made enough to live in an affluent suburb in Chicago but I'm sure I'd be a leading story on Faux if I went out my door and killed a white man."

Matt replied: "First, the President does NOT write legislation, so it doesn't even apply to Obama. Second, how many times do you think that George W. Bush was compared to a chimp? I guess no one can really know if it was actually racist except the author, though, can they?"

What time will the Daily News and the New York Post get to my house in the morning? I leave for work really early in the morning, and I read the news and the post every day. I don't get it delivered because I'm worried that It wont come in time for me to get it. Is there any way that I can punch in my address and find out what time it would come every day! THANKS!

garryh replied: "It is dependent on a human being as to what time they get it to your door. Some delivery people run their route like clock work others less so."

Which is better, the New York Post or the New York Times? I'm from Europe and I'm going to be living in New York city for a year and want to get a subscription for a newspaper. Which do you think is better/more important/relevant/etc., and why? The New York Times o The New York Post. Thanks!

Lisa V replied: "The New York Times. The Post is a more trashy / gossip based, while The New York Times is significantly longer and covers a very large variety of topics."

balraj_life replied: "umm.. finally the New York Post n the New York Times both this provide a varieties of news sovaa , according to me both r favourable but i think u'll not be havin time that much to read both, so select any one as per ur apptitude n go ahead man ..!"

MoneySavingGuide.com replied: "The New York Times has best national/international coverage as well local New York news. It's an all-around great publication. I got my subscription at and it was fiarly inexpensive."

what is the 2008 NEW YORK POST YANKEES COLLECTION? Does anyone know what the post is doing for the yankees collection this season and if so when does it come out? In the past it has been the miniballs and the last season it was the pins. I collect them and im trying to find out this seasons.

Scooter_is_better replied: "I know they have done it the last 3 or 4 years but i have yet to hear anything about it yet. My only suggestion would be to check the NY Post website & see if they have any info on it or maybe the Yankee website."
